Dictionary of National Biography features thousands of detailed biographies of people either born in Britain or who made significant contributions to British history. The complete text and illustrations of the 2004 printed edition, plus regular online supplements. No-one living is included, but its coverage extends up until 2006 for year of death.
Who's who contains over 33,000 short biographies, continually updated, of living noteworthy and influential individuals, from all walks of life, worldwide. Ancestry.co.uk The largest family history site online with over 4 billion names in worldwide historical records. This free family history database is not available by remote access. It is available at Romford, Hornchurch and Upminster Libraries.
Newsbank An online national newspaper base providing full text articles. It allows you to search a single newspaper from the available titles or a combination. You are also able to limit your search by date.
Times Digital Archive The full-text of every article to appear in the Times newspaper from 1785-1985. To log in enter Havering in the Username box and your library card number in the Password box. Please note: access to this resource is very limited, and may not be available at all times.

Theory Test Pro If you are learning to drive a car or a bike, Theory Test Pro is a highly realistic online simulation of the UK's driving theory test. It contains the entire official test question bank, hazard perception video clips and an online version of the Highway Code.
